BGSU Finishes Eleventh At All-Ohio Championships

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The All-Ohio Championships came to a close today with the Bowling Green State University women's track and field team finishing eleventh. The Falcons scored a total of 18 points while the first place captors, Akron finished with 187.33 points. Cincinnati (134), Miami (113.83), Kent State (92), and Findlay (61) round out the top five finishing teams.
Other competing teams:
Ohio University (56.50), Ashland (48), Ohio State (36), Toledo (35), Dayton (32.33), and Xavier (5) finish out the competing teams.
Best Performances of the weekend:
Whitney Hartman took third place in the hammer throw with her second best performance in the event. Her throw of 183-02 places her fourth in the school's history. Hartman also took home a tenth place finish in the discuss, with her throw of 133-05.
TaKarra Dunning contributed two points to the Falcons total with her seventh place finish in the shot put. Dunning had a throw of 46-08.75.
Brittani McNeal brought home a sixth place finish in the long jump, helping the Falcons earn three points. McNeal had a jump of 18-04.50
Sabrina Forstein continued her successful outdoor season with a seventh place finish in the pole vault. Her mark of 11-07.75 earned the Falcons two points.
The 4x100 meter relay team comprised of Brittani McNeal, Elizabeth Stone, Sarah Hooten and Shantell Lewis finished seventh in the event, earning the Orange and Brown two points.
Autumn Dettmann posted a time of 4:45.87 in the 1,500 meter run giving her an eighth place finish. Her finish also earned the Falcons a point.
Next week, May 24 and May 25, the Falcons will head to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays.
