BGSU Sixth after Day One of All-Ohio

OXFORD, Ohio - Bowling Green State University sits in sixth place after the first day of the All-Ohio Championships. The Falcons look to improve on their ranking by the end of the meet.
Senior Stephanie Hillman would be the highest finisher for the Falcons placing third in the 10,000 meter run. Hillman would run a time of 38:42.08 following behind the second place finisher Carey Brigid (Miami) and first place Kristen Altenburger (Ohio).
Another Falcon scorer in the 10,000 meter was junior Andrea Pereira de Almeida. She would run a time of 39:37.60 and place eighth overall.
In the hammer throw, senior Whitney Hartman would throw a distance of 54.62 meters. Hartman would place fifth in the hammer 10 meters behind the event winner Stevi Large from the University of Akron.
Other competitors in the hammer included freshman Jessie Rowland would finish 14th throwing 47.15 meters, senior TaKarra would finish a spot behind Rowland with a toss of 46.63 meters and senior Stacey Turak finished 20th throwing 45.68 meters.
Other performances from the Falcons include Sally Jerop Kandie finishing 17th in the 5,000 meter with a time of 18:55.80. Kandie was followed by the 18th place finisher Tara Weiss running a time of 19:16.40.
In the javelin senior Kylie Korsnack would finish ninth reaching a distance of 35.06 meters, junior Paige Lane placed 19th throwing 19.90 meters and sophomore Jenah Wandell placed 23rd throwing 23.56 meters.
The Falcons will be continuing the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday April 18th at the University of Miami.
