Falcons Finish Ninth at MAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University track and field team recorded 12 points on the final day of the Mid-American Conference Championships to finish ninth with 43 points. The three day event was hosted by the University of Akron.
The Zips won the meet with a total of 147 points. They were followed by Kent State (106.5), Western Michigan (103), Miami (95.5) and Ohio (73) to round out the top five teams.
Helping the Falcons on the final day of competition were a pair of seniors in Whitney Hartman and Kara Butler.
Hartman finished third in the discus with a mark of 159-10 to score six points for the Orange and Brown. The mark qualified the Bowling Green, Ohio native for Regionals in the event.
Butler had her best time of the season in the 5,000 meters finishing third with a time of 17:21.04.
