BOWLING GREEN, OHIO - Bowling Green State University junior outfielder T.J. Blanton has earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District baseball team. Blanton earned a spot on the second team for District 4.
The Sandusky, Ohio native has a 3.33 GPA in health science.
Blanton is hitting .356 for the Falcons this season having played in all 42 games while starting 39 times, 38 of those in center field. Blanton is fifth on team in batting average while he has 27 RBI and 39 runs scored, third on the team. Blanton has 19 extra-base hits, second on the team, including nine doubles and seven home runs. The Sandusky St. Mary graduate is second on the squad with 10 stolen bases.
Blanton has helped the Falcons to a 24-18 overall record this season. BG is tied for first place in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference with a 14-7 record.
The members of the district first team from the eight districts across the country comprise the pool from which the Academic All-America team is picked.
