Falcon Hockey Has a New Radio Voice
September 25, 2009 | Ice Hockey

Fitzhugh, a senior telecommunications major at BGSU, is no stranger to the Falcon hockey program. Through his work with the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization (BGRSO), he has broadcast nearly 20 hockey games for the Brown and Orange and has attended the previous two CCHA media days as a representative for the BGRSO.
“I am very excited and honored to have been chosen for this position,” said Fitzhugh. “There aren't too many places where a student can have the opportunity to be a lead broadcaster for their university, especially in division-one.”
Going into his fourth year with the BGRSO, Fitzhugh has also taken part in BGSU men's and women's basketball and baseball broadcasts as both a play-by-play and color analyst. He also was an intern with the Lake Erie Monarchs baseball team of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League where he served as a color analyst.
“I am very confident that all of the new faces on the ice and behind the bench, as well as players who are returning will make this season very exciting,” he said. “I am so happy to be along for the ride.”
Interim head coach Dennis Williams served as an active member in the selection process. He said of Fitzhugh, “After reviewing all the applicants we had, Everett was clearly a person who had great knowledge of the game and a great voice. He will be a great addition to the staff and the BGSU hockey family.”
All 34 regular season Falcon hockey games plus their two exhibition contests can be heard on 88.1 WBGU-FM. A live audio stream of every game will be provided free of charge on bgsufalcons.com. The B2 Network will also provide live video coverage of Falcon hockey on a per-game and seasonal rate.
The Falcons will open their season on Homecoming, October 3, when Wilfrid Laurier will come to BGSU to play an exhibition.
