
Falcons Make it Two In a Row; Down Broncos

RESULTS
The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team won its second consecutive meet in as many weeks, downing the Western Michigan Broncos 192.600-191.850 on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 31) in Kalamazoo, Mich. Inside University Arena.
BGSU (2-2, 2-0 MAC) opened the meet on the uneven bars, posting a team score of 48.475, led by Monica Eaton, who scored a 9.775. Eaton's score finished third in the meet on the bars. Kasey Fillmore (9.725) along with Breanne Guy and Amber Brewer, both posting a 9.700's, to helped the Orange and Brown in their opening event.
The Falcons moved over the vault, where they managed a score of 47.675, helped by the efforts of Sunny Marchand and Dawn Christman. Marchand won the vault with a score of 9.725, while Christman's 9.700 was good enough for second place.
After the opening two events the Falcons trailed by .400 as they moved over to the floor exercise where they posted a score of 48.325, the exact score the Broncos would post on the floor. Christman led the way with a score of 9.800, second-best score on floor. Queenita Gamble (9.775) and Filmore (9.700) finished fourth and fifth respectively,
Still trailing by the same .400 margin, BGSU scored a 48.125 on the balance beam while the Broncos could manage just a 46.975, allowing the Falcons to escape with the road victory. Danielle Wishart gave the Falcons another event win, scoring a 9.750, while her teammate Megan Chronister finished second with a score of 9.700.
Fillmore finished third in the all-around with a score of 38.450.
Up next for the Falcons will be a trip to Illinois-Chicago, next Sat. (Feb. 6). The dual meet begins at 5 p.m.
