The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team will put its two-meet win streak on the line this Saturday as they travel to Chicago, Ill., for a dual meet with the Flames of Illinois-Chicago. Opening tumbles begins at 6 p.m. in the Physical Education Building.
BGSU (2-2, 2-0 MAC) will step outside Mid-American Conference play this week when they square off with the Flames. The Falcons are coming off back-to-back MAC wins, downing Western Michigan (192.600-191.850) on Jan. 31 and Northern Illinois (192.625-190.900) back on Jan. 24.
This past weekend in the win over Western Michigan the Falcons trailed by .400 a point with one event to go, but rallied on the balance beam to score a season-high 48.125 to surpass the Broncos by the near margin.
Leading the Orange and Brown, was sophomore Kasey Fillmore, who finished second in the all-around with a score of 38.450, and Sunny Marchand, who won the vault with a score of 9.725.
UIC will enter Saturday's meet with a 0-7 record, but are coming off their strongest performance of the year, scoring a 186.550 at the Ball State Invitational last weekend.
