Petruska Finishes in Top 5 of Hobey Baker Fan Voting

After finishing his career wearing Brown and Orange, senior Tomas Petruska can now watch and wait for the results of the Hobey Baker Award voting. Today it was announced that he
Petruska, who finished in career highs goals (10), assists (14) and points (24), also scored three power-play goals and one game-tying goal this season for the Falcons. The Presov, Slovakia native has become a fan favorite and a major contributor on offense this season, especially in the newly adopted shootout for CCHA contests, hitting two of his four shot attempts. He scored points in three of his last five games, including a pair of goals and game-winning shootout tallies. He notched his first multiple-goal game against Northern Michigan (Jan. 16) after scoring two in a 3-3 tie.
The top-10 candidate list for the Hobey Baker Award will be released March 18 with the fan voting section accounting for one percent of the total ballot in each phase of the voting process. The winner of the this year's Hobey Baker Award will be announced on April 9 during the 2009-10 Frozen Four tournament, held in Detroit, Mich.
