The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team travels to Morgantown, West Virginia, for a dual meet with the West Virginia Mountaineers on Sat., Mar. 6. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
The Falcons are coming off a disappointing performance last weekend at Western Michigan, scoring just a 190.675, their lowest output since opening the season with a 189.925 at Michigan. BGSU finished behind Western Michigan (193.925) and Illinois-Chicago (191.150), snapping a five-match win streak in the process.
The good news was that the loss to WMU was a non-conference meet, as the two squads also competed back on Jan. 31, a contest the Orange and Brown won. At that point it moved the Falcons to 2-0 in the Mid-American Conference, a mark that now sits at 4-0, tops in the league.
According to www.mac-sports.com the Falcons lead the conference at 4-0, just ahead of Kent State (3-0), Central Michigan (2-1), Northern Illinois (2-2), Eastern Michigan (1-3), Western Michigan (1-4) and Ball State (0-3).
The Mountaineers (11-7) have lost four straight after opening the season 11-3. This past week they finished four at Nebraska with a team score of 192.975. Nebraska (196.425) won the event, followed by Arizona (194.750) and Denver (194.175).
