Leady, Bott Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are a pair of pitchers, baseball's Kevin Leady and softball's Melissa Bott.
Male Athlete of the Week
Kevin Leady, a senior from Luckey, Ohio, led the Falcons to a win this weekend against Eastern Michigan, pitching 7.1 innings while striking out a career-high 10 batters. He allowed three earned runs in the Falcons' 4-3 win Sunday. His most dominant showing came in the second inning when he struck out the side after Eastern Michigan loaded the bases with no outs.
Female Athlete of the Week
In the opening weekend of MAC play, junior Melissa Bott, from Dover, Ohio, went 2-1 with 0.93 ERA in 15.0 innings for the Falcons on the weekend. She picked up victories on both ends of Friday's doubleheader sweep of Central Michigan, pitching ten innings in the two contests without allowing an earned run. In her three appearances, Bott fanned nine batters and allowed just two earned runs.
