Face Off Reception Gets Hockey Fans Hyped

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Mere days separate fans and followers of Bowling Green hockey from the team's first action of the year but for some who could not wait for Sunday, the annual Falcon Club Face Off Reception held on Wednesday evening was the perfect antidote to curb lingering excitement toward the 2010-11 campaign.

Held in the BGSU Hockey Alumni Lounge, season ticket holders and special guests gathered for an evening of mingling over refreshments and hors d'oeuvres with Falcon players, coaches and staff. Falcon hockey emanated through the air with talk of the upcoming season resonating throughout the room, but no words were stronger spoken than the thanks and promises of maximum effort toward a successful season to all those in attendance from head coach Chris Bergeron.

The fulfillment of those promises will begin this Sunday, Oct. 3, when the Falcons host the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks in an exhibition match at the newly renovated BGSU Ice Arena. Start time is set at 4 p.m. with admission and parking fees being waived in the spirit of Homecoming Weekend.
