Skate With the Falcons Part of Ice Arena Grand Reopening

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – As a part of the grand reopening of the BGSU Ice Arena on Saturday, Oct. 2, the Bowling Green hockey team will be hosting its semi-annual Skate With the Falcons event this weekend.

In conjunction with the 2010 Homecoming festivities occurring on campus, the BGSU Ice Arena will be reopening its doors after a six-month long renovation project. To celebrate the reopening, the Ice Arena will be open to the public for an open viewing of the modifications. The Ice Arena will also be offering free public skating from 12pm to 3:30 pm, which also includes free skate rental.
The Skate With the Falcons portion of the program will commence at noon. Those in attendance will have the chance to strap up their blades and skate the new sheet of ice with players and staff of BGSU hockey team. The team will also host an autograph session to last until 2pm.
Celebratory remarks from University president Dr. Carol A. Cartwright, hockey head coach Chris Bergeron and Ice Arena Director Jamie Baringer will take place at 2pm in the arena. Additional activities will also be taking place in and around the BGSU Ice Arena for community members, students, alumni and their families.
