Falcon Baseball Recognizes 2011 Team With Annual Banquet

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio—The Bowling Green State University Baseball team officially wrapped up the 2011 season with their annual awards banquet Saturday evening. The banquet recognized the accomplishments of the 2011 team, who made it to the Mid American Conference Tournament, marking the fourth straight season that Falcon baseball has accomplished that feat.
The five seniors on last season's team were Clay Duncan, Ryan Schlater, Charles Wooten, Frank Berry, and Dan Parsons. The 2011 team also included two draftees, who recently completed their first summer in professional baseball. Those two players were Jonathan Berti, who was drafted in the 17th round by the Toronto Blue Jays, and Ross Gerdeman, who was drafted in the 35th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The 2011 Falcons finished with an overall record of 20-31, and a Mid American Conference record of 11-14, good for third in the MAC's East Division.
