College Baseball Insider named Berti for various awards in its conference preview.
Falcon shortstop Jon Berti was named one of the three "best pure hitters", among other honors, by College Baseball Insider in its preview of the Mid-American Conference, released today.

The Troy, Mich. native was named to four different honors in the preview including the MAC's "hitter you would least want to face", "best baserunner", "toughest hitter to strikeout" and one of the three players named "best pure hitter" in the conference.
Berti set a school record with 93 hits last season and posted the second-best single-season batting average, hitting .423 on the year in 2010. The junior swiped 29-of-35 bases he attempted to steal and struck out only 33 times in 246 total at-bats, averaging only once every 7.45 plate appearances.
