Kevin Bieksa, who played at Bowling Green State University from 2000-04, is currently a member of the Vancouver Canucks and is competing for the Stanley Cup versus the Boston Bruins.
Bieksa, a fifth round draft pick by the Canucks in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, posted six goals and 16 assists in 66 games this season, but scored his most important goal of the season not-to-long ago. On May 24, 2011 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, Bieksa scored the game winner at 10:18 of the second overtime to put Vancouver in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1994.
Bieksa finished his career with the Orange and Brown with 24 goals, 51 assists, 75 points and 316 penalty minutes while playing in 147 games.
Bieksa and the Canucks currently lead the Stanley Cup Finals 1-0 in a best-of-seven series versus the Bruins.
