The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team will host No. 21 West Virginia on Saturday night inside Anderson Arena. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., and admission is free to everyone in attendance.
Bowling Green is coming of its strongest performance of the season, scoring a 191.950 this past weekend versus Central Michigan. The Orange and Brown scored season-highs on beam (47.775) and floor (48.875), lead by a balanced attack throughout the lineup.
Three performances stood out through the weekend meet, led by senior Dawn Christman, who finished first on floor (9.825) and third on vault (9.775). Junior Danielle Wishart, while competing in just one event, scored a 9.850 on vault to win the event. Sophomore Megan Valentini tied Christman on the floor exercise and was fourth on balance beam, scoring a 9.700.
West Virginia comes into Saturday's meet, averaging 194.263 on the season which includes a 193.425-191.650 win over Rutgers last weekend. WVU earned five individual first-place finishes in the meet, with sophomore Hope Sloanhoffer accounting for three. Sloanhoffer finished second overall with a 38.825 mark, while senior Tina Maloney scored 38.575 and finished third.
