COMPLETE RESULTS
The Bowling Green State University track and field team spent Saturday afternoon (Jan. 21) competing at the Red-Simmons Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan. No team scores were kept during the meet.
The Falcons totaled five top-four finishes in a meet that featured Michigan, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Detroit.
Janelle Campbell had BGSU's lone individual championship, finishing first in the triple jump with a mark of 35-04.00, a new season-best. Campbell added a sixth-place finish in the long jump (16-06.50).
Also setting season-bests were Ashley Harris and Allison Weimer. Harris recorded a distance of 56-09.50 in the weight throw, over a foot farther than last week's result, finishing third in the meet. Harris added a fourth-place finish in the shot put (45-00.25). Weimer ran BGSU's best 400-meter time of the season (59.31), finishing fourth.
"It was great to see Ashley continue to throw personal bests," said BGSU head track and field coach Lou Snelling. "She is putting herself in a position to be very competitive at the MAC Championships."
Jeanette Pettigrew, Bowling Green's reigning Papa John's Player of the Week, finished third in the 60 meters with a time of 7.63.
Bowling Green returns to action next weekend, when they will play host to the Tom Wright Classic (Jan. 27) inside the Perry Fieldhouse.
