Falcon Baseball Set To Play Fall World Series

2012 Stats Rosters
The Bowling Green State University baseball team will hold their annual Brown and Orange Fall World Series, beginning next Tuesday (Oct. 9). The five-game intrasquad series will be the culmination of the fall practice schedule. Head coach Danny Schmitz will lead the Brown team, while assistant coach Spencer Schmitz will manage the Orange. Redshirt junior Mike Frank served as the first pitcher picked in the draft, going to the Brown team. Andrew Kubuski was the first position player picked, going to the Orange team.
The Brown Team
As mentioned, head coach Danny Schmitz—entering his 23rd season at the helm of the Orange and Brown—will be the decision-maker in the Brown dugout. Sophomore infielder Brian Bien will lead the Brown team, as he returns after batting .345 as a freshman a season ago. Bien was a second team All-MAC selection. Mike Frank served as the first pitcher pick for the Brown squad. Frank, who redshirted last season, will come into 2013 as a redshirt junior.
The Orange Team
Assistant coach Spencer Schmitz—the Falcons hitting coach—will lead the Orange into battle for the Fall Series. Andrew Kubuski was picked first by the Orange team. Kubuski, who led the Falcons in a plethora of offensive categories in 2012, will get the start in left field for coach Spencer Schmitz. Freshman Brett Fitzwater was picked as the first pitcher for the Orange team.
