Falcons Fall at Pittsburgh

COMPLETE RESULTS
The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team dropped a 194.050-192.325 decision Saturday afternoon to the Pittsburgh Panthers.
BGSU opened the afternoon the uneven bars. Led by senior Monica Eaton (9.600) and sophomore Megan Harrington (9.550), who finished fifth and sixth on the event, the Falcons scored 47.525.
For their standards, the Falcons struggled on vault, managing a 47.875 team score, their lowest team vault score this season. Freshman Jamilah Ali and junior Danielle Wishart finished first and third in the meet with scores of 9.775 and 9.725.
In rotation three the Falcons moved over to floor, an event they lead the Mid-American Conference in. They did not disappoint versus the Panthers, registering a 48.675. Wishart finished first among the 12 gymnasts with a score of 9.800 and Ali was fourth, scoring 9.775.
The Falcons finished strong on beam with the help of Ali, who won her second event of the afternoon, scoring 9.800. Harrington was third with a 9.775. Harrington added a season-best 38.550 in the all-around to finish second in the meet.
BGSU returns to action next Friday (Feb. 1) with a trip to Missouri. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
