COMPLETE RESULTS
The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team finished third in a tri-meet with a score of 191.500, finishing behind Maryland (194.425) and North Carolina (193.125). The meet was held inside the Comcast Center in College Park, Mary.
BGSU had a pair of Falcons compete in the all-around with Gina Locigno (38.275) and Megan Harrington (37.625) finishing fourth and fifth overall.
The Orange & Brown got off to a rough start on Sunday afternoon, scoring just 46.700 on the uneven bars, despite having Monica Eaton finish fourth with a 9.700.
After the disappointing start the Falcons bounced back, scoring 47.625 on the balance beam with the help from freshman Jamilah Ali, who won the event, scoring a 9.825. The freshman currently leads the Mid-American Conference in scoring average on beam.
The Falcons were “Super” on the final two events, scoring a 48.725 on floor and 48.450 on vault, nearly erasing the early deficit versus both schools. Senior Dawn Christman finished second with a 9.850, Harrington was fifth (9.775) and Locigno was eighth (9.750).
In the final rotation, BGSU was led by Ali, Christman and Danielle Wishart, who scored a 9.825, 9.775 and 9.775 to finish fourth and tied for sixth among the 18 competitors.
Bowling Green returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 11, when they will play host to Northern Illinois at 4 p.m. inside Anderson Arena. Admission is free to all.
