Hockey Signs Six To National Letters Of Intent

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green ice hockey coach Chris Bergeron has announced the signing of six student-athletes during the fall of 2013. Bowling Green welcomes forwards John Schilling, Keith Burchett, Mitch McLain, Ryan Coulter and Michael Houle, as well as defenseman Connor McDonald to the hockey family. Assistant coaches Ty Eigner and Barry Schutte sat down with BGSUFalcons.com to discuss what each player brings to Bowling Green. All the videos can be found below.
Keith Burchett | Forward
DOB: Dec. 8, 1994 | Oak Brook, Ill.
Height: 5-11 | Weight: 190
Keith Burchett (Oak Brook, Illinois) has signed his National Letter of Intent with Bowling Green last week. Burchett currently plays for the Sioux Falls Stampede, and has four goals and six assists in 14 games this season. Earlier this month, Burchett earned USHL forward of the week (Nov. 4), scoring five points to help the Stampede win both their games over the weekend. Prior to this season, Burchett played for the Chicago Mission – Midget U18 team, compiling 17 goals and 22 assists in 31 games played.
Ryan Coulter | Forward
DOB: April 2, 1995 | Dundas, Ontario
Height: 5-10 | Weight: 168
Ryan Coulter (Dundas, Ontario) currently is in his third season with the Culver Military Academy "Prep" Team. Coulter has played in two games, and has totaled one assist with a +2 on-ice rating. In 2011-12 Coulter compiled 17 goals and 29 assists (46 points) in 33 games.
Michael Houle | Forward
DOB: June 22, 1996 | Macomb, Mich.
Height: 6-2 | Weight: 150
Michael Houle (Macomb, Michigan) will continue his hockey career with the Bowling Green Falcons after signing a National Letter of Intent with the Falcons. Houle currently plays for the Honeybaked Midget Major team. Prior to this season, Houle played for the Honeybaked Midget Minor – U16 team in 2012-13. During the season, Houle totaled 18 goals and 14 assists (32 points) in 26 games.
Mitch McLain | Forward
DOB: Dec. 9, 1993 | Baxter, Minn.
Height: 6-0 | Weight: 190
Mitch McLain (Baxter, Minnesota) will continue his hockey career with Bowling Green after signing a National Letter of Intent. McLain has played for the Langley Rivermen of the British Columbia Hockey League for the past three seasons. During his time with the Rivermen, McLain has scored 25 goals and 35 assists in 77 games. Currently, McLain is the leading scorer with 12 goals and 16 assists in 24 games this season, and is serves as the captain of the Rivermen.

Prior to this season, McDonald played for the Ohio Blue Jackets Midget Major, compiling six goals and eight assists in 39 games. McDonald added two game-winning goals in his time with the Blue Jackets Midget Major.

Prior to this season, McDonald played for the Ohio Blue Jackets Midget Major, compiling six goals and eight assists in 39 games. McDonald added two game-winning goals in his time with the Blue Jackets Midget Major.
