Falcons Finalize 2013-14 Schedule

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team finalized its 2013-14 schedule Wednesday afternoon, showcasing a number of quality opponents both in and out of conference. The first action of the season falls on Saturday, Oct. 5, with an exhibition game against Wilfred Laurier University. The Falcons then take on three-straight non-conference opponents, starting with a two-game set at Union College on Oct. 11-12. Bowling Green then welcomes former CCHA foe, Ohio State, to Bowling Green for a single game on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The following weekend (Oct. 18-19) brings Colgate University to the BGSU Ice Arena, before finishing the home-and-home with a single contest at Ohio State on Oct. 29.
The Falcons continue non-conference play with a trip to Pittsburgh, Pa. on Dec. 27, where Bowling Green will enter a pool of opponents including Boston College, Robert Morris and Penn State at the Three Rivers Classic. The Orange and Brown's final game outside of the WCHA features an exhibition game against US National Under-18 Team on Feb. 21 in Bowling Green.

From Conference Release On Feb. 23
The Falcons open conference play with a home series against Alaska-Anchorage on Nov. 1-2 before heading on the road for two-straight weeks against Minnesota State (Nov. 8-9) and Ferris State (Nov. 15-16). Bowling Green then welcomes Minnesota State to the BGSU Ice Arena (Nov. 22-23) before heading up to Lake Superior for a two-game set with the Lakers on Nov. 29-30. The Orange and Brown will then take on Alabama-Huntsville at home (Dec. 6-7) before closing out conference play in December with another trip to the Upper Peninsula to take on Michigan Tech (Dec. 13-14).
The Falcons second half of their conference schedule starts with a road trip to Alabama-Huntsville (Jan. 3-4) before starting a three-game WCHA home stand against Alaska-Fairbanks (Jan. 10-11), Lake Superior (Jan. 24-25) and Michigan Tech (Jan. 31-Feb. 1). Bowling Green then goes on the road to Alaska-Anchorage (Feb. 14-15) and Northern Michigan (Feb. 28-March 1) before closing the year at home with a two-game set against Bemidji State (March 7-8).
