Military Appreciation Day Set For Hockey’s Opener

Any active or retired military member can receive a free ticket with a valid veteran or military ID on game day at the ticket office in order to pick up your free ticket.
Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University hockey team will hold its season opener next Friday (Oct. 10) at the BGSU Ice Arena against Miami University. The athletics department is pleased to announce the night will be Military Appreciation Night when the Falcons take on the Redhawks.
Any active or retired military member can receive a free ticket with a valid veteran or military ID on game day at the ticket office in order to pick up your free ticket. Tickets are still available and can be purchase either online at BGSUFalcons.com/, over the phone at 877-BGSU-TICKET or in person at the BGSU Ticket Office located in the Stroh Center. The BGSU Ticket Office is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each weekday.
"The BGSU Ice Arena has always been a difficult place for our opposing teams to play," BGSU head coach Chris Bergeron said. "We look forward to having our tremendous fans come out and support our program during our season opener against Miami University on Friday (Oct. 10) night."
The first 1,000 fans will also receive a pair of free BGSU cameo sticks.
The Falcons are coming off their first season in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), going 18-15-6 overall and tying for third in the league with a 13-11-4 record. The Orange and Brown hosted a first-round playoff series for the first time in seven seasons, and landed a spot in the WCHA Final Five. Bowling Green will open its 2014-15 season with a home-and-home series against Miami before heading on the road to take on WCHA foe Alabama-Huntsville.
