Ice Hockey Weekend Highlights: Week 5- Alaska

The Falcons scored three goals in each game over the weekend against Alaska, sweeping the Nanooks in Fairbanks for the first time since the 1995-96 season.

Bowling Green, Ohio-- Every week, the BGSU Athletic Communications Department will post a video of the Falcons' highlights from the previous weekend. Bowling Green hit the road once again for the weekend, traveling to Fairbanks, Alaska to take on the Nanooks of Alaska. The Orange and Brown totaled six goals to sweep the Nanooks for the first time in Alaska since the 1995-96 season. The Falcons also received a big weekend from junior netminder Tommy Burke. The goaltender turned away 62-of-66 shots on the weekend, earning WCHA Defensive Player of the Week. The Falcons improved to an overall record of 7-2-1, and 5-1-1 in the WCHA, which propelled BGSU into the top-20 in the USCHO poll for the first time since 2007-08.
