Falcons Rise In National Rankings

The Orange and Brown are ranked 15th in both national polls this week.
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team, who has six wins over its last seven games, moved up in the national rankings this week. The Falcons moved up three spots to No. 15 in the USCHO.com poll, while appearing in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine College Hockey Poll in the 15th slot.
The Orange and Brown, who got ranked for the first time since the 2007-08 season two weeks ago in the USCHO poll, continued to climb the rankings for the third-straight week. The Falcons received 292 points to move up from the 18th slot a week ago.Bowling Green is one of four Western Collegiate Hockey League (WCHA) teams that earned a spot in the Top 20, as Michigan Tech (6), Minnesota State (7) and Northern Michigan (19) all secured spots.
Meanwhile, the Falcons have secured a spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine rankings, coming in at No. 15. BGSU is one of three WCHA teams that made an appearance in this week's poll. Michigan Tech (5) and Minnesota State (7) appeared in the top 10.
Bowling Green will be back in action Dec. 5-6 when they hit the road for Marquette, Michigan to face Northern Michigan University. Friday night's game is scheduled to start at 7:37 p.m., while Saturday night will feature a 7:07 p.m. puck drop.
