Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University ticket office has announced that season tickets are on sale now for the 2014-15 BGSU hockey season. Season tickets start as low as $152 for 18 games, which includes the first outdoor hockey game in BGSU Hockey history, the entire regular season slate and the exhibition opener against Simon Fraser. "This year's schedule includes Miami, Ohio State and our conference rivals," BGSU hockey coach Chris Bergeron said. "We will also get an opportunity to experience Winterfest, our outdoor game in Toledo, together in January. The atmosphere at our home games played a big role in our success last season. With the help of our fans, we can continue to make the BG Ice Arena a huge home ice advantage."
General admission season tickets for all 18 games are just $152, while bench reserved seats are $195. Prime chairback reserved seats are also available for $282 (requiring a $500 Falcon Club donation). BGSU faculty/staff can purchase bench reserved season tickets for only $152. For those who live away from Bowling Green or can't attend games, the Bergeron's Buddies Donation program allows fans an opportunity to 'tally an assist' by purchasing season tickets for just $75. Season tickets purchased through the program will be donated to youth-oriented non-profit organizations in the Wood County area.
Two new mini-plan packages are available for those able to attend only Friday or Saturday contests.
The Falcon Friday Pack is just $90 and includes all Friday games. The package features non-conference home games against traditional rivals Miami (Ohio) and Ohio State, as well as seven Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Friday night games.
The Shootout Saturday Pack is also $90 and includes all Saturday games. This package features the Winterfest outdoor hockey game at Fifth Third Field in Toledo against Robert Morris, seven Saturday WCHA games and the exhibition contest against Simon Fraser.
In addition, the Ice Box will return for the 2014-15 season. The Ice Box provides seating for four at a high top table located behind the glass on the south side of the arena. In addition to the table and four seats for the season, the package includes the same arrangements for any playoff games hosted in the BG Ice Arena. Amenities include a personalized reserved parking space at BG Ice Arena for all BGSU hockey games, a host/hostess to deliver food or drinks that your box may wish to purchase throughout the game and a BGSU Athletics "Ice Box" gift. The cost for a four-person Ice Box for the season is $1,200.
BGSU Hockey is poised to be among the favorites in the program's second year in the WCHA. The team finished its debut season in the new league with an 18-15-6 record in 2013-14, including a mark of 13-11-4 in conference action. The Falcons earned the No. 4 seed for the WCHA Tournament, swept Michigan Tech in a first-round home playoff series and advanced to the WCHA Final Five in Grand Rapids, Mich. BGSU hockey has improved its win total in each of Bergeron's four seasons at the helm of the program.
BGSU Hockey will have the unique opportunity in 2014-15 to play its first outdoor hockey game in program history during Winterfest at Fifth Third Field in Toledo. Bowling Green will face Robert Morris on Jan. 3 as the 10-day community winter celebration will feature the NCAA Division I hockey game at noon.
