BGSU Hockey And Toledo Walleye Set For Doubleheader At Huntington Center

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University hockey team will host Western Michigan on Dec. 30 at the Huntington Center in Toledo as the first game of a doubleheader with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye.
"The Toledo Walleye and the Huntington Center have been exceptional partners with us in the past," Associate Athletics Director and BGSU Hockey sport administrator Jim Elsasser said. "From last year's Winterfest to prior events that have been co-hosted in the Huntington Center, we've always enjoyed the opportunity to work with their organizations. We are thrilled to once again be partnering with them."
BGSU will host Western Michigan at 5 pm followed by the Toledo Walleye hosting the Elmira Jackals at 8 pm. One ticket will include both contests that day. BGSU season ticket holders will receive a game ticket for the doubleheader as part of their season ticket package.
Bowling Green State University students can purchase a ticket for $15 with individual ice level tickets going for $22 and individual club level tickets being sold for $30. A ticket rate of $17 is being offered as well for groups of 25 or more.
"We are excited to showcase a game in this venue with one of our traditional rivals in Western Michigan," BGSU head coach Chris Bergeron said.
The BGSU Athletics Department has partnered with the Toledo Walleye and the Huntington Center on a handful of occasions in recent history to showcase hockey in Northwest Ohio. A year ago, BGSU skated to a 2-2 tie with No. 19 Robert Morris in the program's first outdoor game ever at Fifth Third Field for the Walleye's Winterfest. In 2013, the Huntington Center served as a host site for the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament first and second round, while BGSU hosted Michigan in a game at the Huntington Center during the 2009-10 season.
Tickets for the contest will go on sale Sept. 21 and fans can purchase tickets online at BGSUFalcons.com/tickets, by phone at 877-BGSU TICKET, or by visiting the BGSU Ticket Office at the Stroh Center. Fans can also purchase online through ToledoWalleye.com.
