Dop Earns First Career WCHA Weekly Honor

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – After posting 25 saves on Friday evening, freshman goaltender Eric Dop has been named Rookie of the Week by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, announced Monday.
A native of Lewis Center, Ohio, Dop earned his second win of the season on Friday night against Alaska when he made 25 saves, including a game-high of 14 in the third period. Dop only allowed one goal against in the 2-1 win, and currently averages 2.00 goals against and .932 save percentage through his first three starts. Dop's efforts between the pipes also kept the Nanooks scoreless on the power play through three chances with the man advantage that generated four shots on goal. This recognition marks Dop's first WCHA honor of his career.
