Dop Named Back-to-Back WCHA Rookie of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – After a 21 save performance at Michigan Tech Friday evening, Bowling Green hockey's freshman goaltender Eric Dop was named Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
In a 2-1 win at Michigan Tech on Friday, Dop posted a .955 save percentage with just one goal against. The Lewis Center, Ohio native tallied to 21 saves, including a game-high of nine in the narrow third period to keep the Falcons ahead and earn a 2-1 win in regulation. The victory over the defending WCHA Champions marked Dop's third win in four starts with the Falcons, helping the Falcons earn its first win over Michigan Tech since Nov. 14, 2015.
It is Dop's second WCHA Rookie of the Week award of the season, after he also earned the honor on Oct. 30 for his 25-save effort in a 2-1 win against Alaska.
