October 22, 2018 | Ice Hockey
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Former two-year captain of the Falcon hockey program Sean Walker has been promoted to the Los Angeles Kings from the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League. This announcement came Monday by Kings Vice President, General Manager and fellow BGSU alum Rob Blake.
The 23-year-old native of Keswick, Ontario has appeared in seven games this season for the Reign, posting six points (3-3=6), two penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating. At the time of this promotion he ranks tied for third among AHL defensemen in goals and tied for ninth in points (leads Ontario blueliners in both categories).
Signed as an unrestricted free agent on July 3, 2018, Walker has appeared in 71 regular season games for the Ontario Reign over two seasons, posting 34 points (10-24=34), a plus-18 rating and 61 penalty minutes. He has yet to appear in an NHL game. He is slated to wear number 61. He would be just the second Kings player to wear that number.
In his four seasons with the Bowling Green hockey program, Sean Walker posted 80 points by 22 goals and 58 assists, a plus-47 rating and 250 penalty minutes in 160 games, while being named to All-WCHA Second Team honors for his efforts in the 2016-17 campaign.
