Will Cullen Voted WCHA Co-Rookie Of The Week
November 19, 2018 | Ice Hockey
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Will Cullen of the Bowling Green State University hockey team has been voted one of two WCHA Co-Rookies of the Week. This after he tallied a multi-point game including scoring his first career goal in Saturday's (Nov. 17) 5-2 win over Lake Superior State.
In his first game back from an injury that kept him out of the previous eight games, the freshman from Pelham Manor, New York sent a slap shot past LSSU's Mareks Mitens in the third period to break the 2-2 tie. This was the game winning goal, and Cullen's first career goal for the Orange and Brown. Cullen then connected with fellow freshman Taylor Schneider for a goal to put the Falcons up 4-2, helping to insure the game for BGSU.
This is Will Cullen's first WCHA career honor.
The Falcons will take a brief break from WCHA play for their next matchup, when they travel to Plymouth, Mich. for an exhibition game against the U.S. Under-18 Team. Bowling Green will then resume their WCHA schedule with back-to-back away series. The first will be against Alabama Huntsville (Dec. 1, 2) followed by Ferris State (Dec. 7, 8).
