Lukas Craggs Voted WCHA Forward Of The Week
December 17, 2018 | Ice Hockey
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Lukas Craggs of the Bowling Green State University hockey team has been voted WCHA Forward of the Week. This comes after he recorded two goals on eight shots and a +3 rating in Bowling Green's sweep of No. 3 Minnesota State.
A junior from Elmhurst, Illinois, Craggs had three shots on goal in Friday's (Dec. 14) win before erupting for two goals on five shots on Saturday (Dec. 15). The Falcons' top scoring line would crash the net as Brandon Kruse would get a great pass to Craggs who would score on Minnesota State's Mathias Israelsson from the left wing side. Craggs would find that spot again early in the second period to net his second of the night. These were Lukas Craggs' 99th and 100th games for the Orange and Brown. His twelve goals on the season lead the Falcons, and have him sitting fourth nationally in goals scored.
This is Lukas Craggs' first WCHA award of the 2018-19 season, and his second career honor.
The Falcons will have a brief break with their next game scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 30 against the University of Windsor in an exhibition contest. BGSU last played Windsor to start the 2016 season, when the Falcons won 3-2 in the exhibition game. Bowling Green will resume WCHA play on Thursday Jan. 3 when they face off with Bemidji State in the first of a two game home series.
