
BG Hockey Alumnus Dan Bylsma Buys Student Tickets For WCHA Playoff Series

Bowling Green, Ohio – BGSU Athletics Hall of Fame members Dan and Mary Beth Bylsma will pay for BGSU's student tickets for the WCHA Tournament First Round beginning Friday against Ferris State. Falcon Hockey alumnus Dan Bylsma continues to make an impact on the program.
"Dan is a very proud BGSU Hockey alumnus," BGSU Hockey Head Coach Chris Bergeron said. "He has been, and continues to be, very supportive with his time and generosity. Buying the student tickets for this weekend's playoff series is just another example. On behalf of the entire hockey program, and our students, thank you to Dan and Mary Beth."
Bylsma has been the head coach of two National Hockey League franchises and the United States men's national hockey team. He was the head coach for the PIttsburgh Penguins, whom he led to a Stanley Cup Championship in 2009. Dan played at BGSU from 1988-1992. His wife, Mary Beth, is also a fellow Athletics Hall of Fame gymnast.
BGSU students are able to claim their free ticket for the weekend's games by logging into their BGSU ticket account. Students who had already purchased the five dollar tickets will be refunded.
BGSU Hockey is the No. 3 seed for the WCHA Tournament and will host No. 6 seed Ferris State at 8:07 pm Friday, and 7:07 pm on Saturday and Sunday if necessary. The winner of the best-of-three series will advance to the WCHA semifinals.
