Celebration For Walny, Gustafson Set For Friday At 12:30 PM

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Department of Athletics is inviting all Bowling Green fans and friends to join for a celebration recognizing Rachel Walny and Aliyah Gustafson as they head to Oregon to compete in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. The celebration will take place Friday at 12:30 pm at the Sebo Center on the north end of Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Free pizza will be provided.
Walny qualified for the NCAA championships in the 10,000 for the second consecutive year after placing fifth in the event at the NCAA East Region Preliminary meet. Gustafson finished third in the shot put at the same regional to qualify for the national championship in the event. It will mark the third time competing in an NCAA championship (2016 outdoor, 2018 indoor).
