>>VERSUS MINNESOTA STATE
- All-time, Minnesota State holds a 12-8-3 advantage over Bowling Green. Very even in recent years, Bowling Green has a 7-6-2 record against the Mavericks over the last six seasons including their three meetings last year.
- The 2018-19 campaign added a sizeable chapter in the history between these two programs. One of the highlights of Bowling Green's season a year ago was a two game sweep of Minnesota State in December. The Falcons bested the Mavericks in two contests both ending in 4-1 final scores in Slater Family Ice Arena. It was believed to be Bowling Green's first sweep of a top 3 opponent since the weekend of Feb. 7-8, 1992 when the Falcons swept No. 1 Michigan in a home-and-home series.
- The script was flipped by the Mavericks when the two met for a third time in the 2019 WCHA Championship game. The Falcons dropped the contest 3-2 in overtime. Frederic Letourneau and Alec Rauhauser tallied goals for Bowling Green in the contest building a 2-0 lead. MSU would tally two goals with an extra attacker within the final two minutes of play to tie the game before regulation time expired. The Mavericks scored the game-winning goal in overtime. Following this game, both squads fell in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
