Coach Ty Eigner's Take
- "I thought the first couple shifts were fine and then we turned the puck over and ultimately took a penalty, and to put Minnesota State on the power play early is not something you'd choose to do. Then it gets to 2-0 and you're thinking, who knows where this game might end up. Then Eric Dop made a really big save to settle things down. I thought Alec Rauhauser made a really nice play…I thought it was a great play by Alec and a big goal for us to go in down 2-1 and not down 2-0."
- On drawing crucial penalties in the game, "It seemed like the first half of the game when Minnesota State was dictating play and competing harder than we were we probably didn't draw or deserve as many power play opportunities. As the game went on we continued to push and make more plays. When you are making plays in the O zone you put yourself in a position where there's more power play opportunities."
- On winning against No. 2 Minnesota State, "Minnesota State is as good a team as there is in the country. For our guys to come in here and play a good game against them is really important…It's a great learning experience for our guys and a great opportunity to continue to build on."
