Bowling Green Back Up To No. 17 In USCHO Poll

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University hockey team has risen back to No. 17 in this week's official USCHO poll. This after the Falcons split with No. 3 (then No. 2) Minnesota State this past weekend in Mankato (Nov. 1-2). The Falcons have risen back to the same rank they were a week ago in the poll (Oct. 21).
Bowling Green defeated MSU in overtime on Friday (Nov. 1) night by a final score of three to two. Shots on goal finished even at 33-33. Minnesota State got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period before the Orange and Brown tallied three unanswered goals over the course of the contest to win it. Alec Rauhauser scored before the end of the first period, with Cameron Wright tallying the tying goal early in the second period. The two squads battled to overtime where the Falcons drew a power play opportunity. Junior forward Connor Ford found the back of the net to win it for the Falcons. With this win, BGSU handed No. 2 Minnesota State their first loss of the season. The Mavericks split the series on Saturday (Nov. 2) night topping BGSU by a final score of five to one.
Bowling Green is one of three WCHA teams in this week's poll with Minnesota State at No. 3, and Northern Michigan at No. 16.
The Falcons will be off next weekend for a bye before continuing WCHA play the week after at Alaska Anchorage. BGSU will play the UAA Seawolves in a two game series in Anchorage, Alaska on the weekend of November 15-16. Both games will be 11:07 PM ET puck drops.
