Alec Rauhauser Named WCHA Defenseman Of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced weekly awards Monday afternoon (Dec. 2). Of those named, Alec Rauhauser earned the Defenseman of the Week for the conference, being the first time this season he has been recognized. A year ago, Rauhauser was named four times for Defenseman of the Week.

This past weekend, Rauhauser scored his 100th career point with a goal in Friday night's (Nov. 29) 5-2 win at No. 5 Notre Dame. He then followed that up with an assist during Saturday's (Nov. 30) 5-2 win against the Fighting Irish to move his career point total to 101.
Bowling Green defeated Notre Dame on Friday night (Nov. 29) by a final score of 5-2 at the Compton Family Ice Arena in Notre Dame, Ind. In the first meeting of the weekend, Brandon Kruse logged his first goal of the season as well as an assist while Rauhauser scored a goal for career point 100. As for Saturday night (Nov. 30), Bowling Green again topped the Fighting Irish in a 5-2 final, this time at the Slater Family Ice Arena. Frederic Letourneau logged a goal and an assist in the win for the Falcons while freshman Adam Pitters registered his first collegiate goal.
The Falcons will resume play this coming weekend, taking on Alabama Huntsville both Friday and Saturday (Dec. 6-7). Both games will take place at Slater Family Ice Arena with 7:07 p.m. puck drops.
