Bowling Green Ranked No. 15 In USCHO Poll

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University hockey team has been ranked No. 15 in this week's official USCHO poll. This following a weekend in which the Falcons took the series against Alaska Fairbanks with a win and a tie.
Bowling Green skated off with a strong 8-0 win over the UAF Nanooks Friday night (Feb. 15). The Falcons tied their season high for goals, scoring eight for the third time this season, while also securing their fourth shutout. John Schilling assisted on three of BGSU's eight goals. Connor Ford picked up two assists. In the score column, Sam Craggs led the way with two goals, while also picking up an assist. BGSU tallied two power play goals and two shorthanded goals.
Bowling Green then battled back to tie Alaska Fairbanks 3-3 on Saturday (Feb. 16) night. The Nanooks would score in the second overtime period earning the extra point in WCHA play. Stephen Baylis tallied three assists on the night, including one on a Will Cullen power play goal to tie the game in the second period. The Falcons outscored the Nanooks 11 to 3 on the weekend.
BGSU is one of three WCHA teams in the poll, joining No. 4 Minnesota State and No. 18 Lake Superior State.
The Orange and Brown is back on the road this weekend as it travels to Bemidji State University to play a two game series (Feb. 22-23). This will be Bowling Green's second meeting with the BSU Beavers as they split a two game series in early January (Jan. 3-4) at home in Slater Family Ice Arena. Puck drop for both games will be at 8:07 PM ET inside the Sanford Canter in Bemidji, Minn.
