Falcons Jump To No. 13 In USCHO Poll

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University hockey team continued to move up in the latest Top 20 in this week's official USCHO poll, now up to No. 13. This marks the fourth time this season the Falcons have moved up the rankings, including the last two weeks.

The Falcons move up in the rankings after sweeping the weekend home-and-home series with Ferris State. Max Johnson netted the game-winning goal with 12 seconds remaining on Friday night (Dec. 11) for the first win and the Falcons surged to a 6-2 win on Saturday (Dec. 12). The pair of wins push Bowling Green to 6-1 in the 2020-21 campaign, being 14-1-2 over their last 17 games dating back to last season.
Bowling Green is one of two WCHA teams ranked in this week's poll with Minnesota State at No. 5. Lake Superior State, Bemidji State, Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan all received votes as well.
The Falcons will be back on the ice this weekend traveling to Hamden, Conn. to face No. 11 Quinnipiac. The series is set for Friday and Saturday (Dec. 18-19) and will be the first ranked opponent for the Falcons. They previously defeated Robert Morris who at the time was receiving votes. Both games against Quinnipiac will be available on ESPN+.
