Falcons Up To No. 16 In Latest USCHO Poll

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University hockey team moved up in the latest USCHO poll, now up to No. 16 this week. This marks the third time this season the Falcons have moved up the rankings, most recently being No. 18 the previous two weeks.

The Falcons move up in the ranking after topping Robert Morris and splitting the weekend series with Mercyhurst. Against Robert Morris on Tuesday (Dec. 1) the Falcons came away with a 6-3 victory. Will Cullen paced Bowling Green with four points in the game, coming from one goal and three assists. Bowling Green then fell short on Saturday (Dec. 5) against Mercyhurst by a score of 2-1 before bouncing back on Sunday (Dec. 6). In the contest on Sunday the Orange and Brown captured a 3-1 win behind two goals by Tim Theocharidis, his first multiple-goal game of his collegiate career. He was also assisted by T.J. Lloyd on both scores for Lloyd's first multiple-assist game with Bowling Green.
Bowling Green is one of two WCHA teams ranked in this week's poll with Minnesota State at No. 6. Bemidji State, Lake Superior State, Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech received votes as well.
The Falcons will be back on the ice this weekend for a home-and-home series on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 11-12) against Ferris State. The series will be non-conference with Bowling Green hosting on Friday before the series shifts to Big Rapids on Saturday. Both games will be available on FloHockey and are set for 7:07 p.m. puck drops.
