MURRAY, Ky. -- The Bowling Green State University baseball team concluded its weekend series at Murray State University on Sunday (March 1). The Racers completed the three-game sweep by defeating the Falcons, 25-5. The non-conference game was played at MSU's Reagan Field.

Murray State broke the game open early, scoring 12 runs across the first three innings of the game. The Falcons will play eight more non-conference ballgames before opening up Mid-American Conference play with a home series versus Ohio over March 20-22.

Kyle Gurney went 2-for-5 for Bowling Green with one run and two RBI. Fellow freshman Adam Fallon finished the contest 1-for-4 with two RBI. Freshman Jack Krasue plated BGSU's other run with an RBI double. Sophomore Tyler Haas worked two walks in two plate appearances.

Nine different pitchers appeared in the game for the Falcons. Right-handed pitcher Jeremy Spezia rounded out the bunch with a scoreless eighth inning. Southpaw Jay Ward worked 0.2 innings of scoreless baseball. Left-hander David Stopp surrendered one earned run over 2.0 innings on the hill.
