BG Falcon Hockey Sees Eight Named AHCA All-American Scholars

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) released the 2019-20 recipients of the ACHA All-American Scholars for Division I on Tuesday (July 21). Of those named, eight members of the Bowling Green State University hockey program received the recognition.Â

To qualify for the recognition this year student-athletes had to maintain at least a 3.75 GPA for the fall semester while also seeing action in at least 40% of the team's games. Some exceptions were made for injuries and back-up goaltenders. The list included 571 men and women across Division I hockey. Below are the eight Falcons that were named.Â
Sam Craggs, Jr., Forward, Elmhurst, Ill.
Jacob Dalton, Sr., Defensemen, Saginaw, Mich.
Garrett Daly, Fr., Defensemen, Lakeville, Minn.
Eric Dop, Jr., Goaltender, Lewis Center, Ohio
Brandon Kruse, Jr., Forward, Saline, Mich.
Frederic Letourneau, Sr., Forward, Montreal, Que.
Brett Rich, Jr., Goaltender, Bowling Green, Ohio
Cameron Wright, Jr., Forward, Newmarket, Ont.Â
As a conference, the WCHA landed a total of 109 men and women student-athletes who received recognition. Alaska Anchorage led the men's conference with a total of 11 recipients while Bowling Green tied for the second-most with Bemidji State and Ferris State.Â
As for Bowling Green as a team during the spring semester, the Falcons held a team GPA of 3.82 while seeing 17 student-athletes earn a 4.0 GPA and 24 student-athletes named to the Dean's List, accounting for 89% of the roster.Â
