BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team and head coach Kyle Hallock have announced the hiring of Matt Rembielak as assistant baseball coach. Rembielak, who will work with the outfielders at BGSU, was a four-year letterwinner on the diamond at Akron and brings over five years of college coaching experience to the Falcon dugout.
"We are excited for Matt Rembielak to join our program," said Hallock. "Coach Rembielak brings a wealth of MAC experience, as both a player and coach. He will fit very well into the fabric of what we are constructing here at Bowling Green State University."
Most recently, Rembielak was the volunteer assistant at Michigan State of the Big Ten Conference since May of 2019. Prior to his stop in East Lansing, Rembielak spent two seasons at Eastern Michigan, where he worked with EMU's hitters and outfielders. Rembielak also spent time as an assistant coach at Oberlin College from 2015-16.
A native of Akron, Rembielak was a four-year starter at shortstop for his hometown Zips from 2012-15. He went on to play one season for the Great Bend (Kan.) Boom, an independent baseball team, to conclude his playing career.
Rembielak graduated from UA with a degree in sport management in 2015. His father, Rick Rembielak, was a 20-year collegiate head coach, leading the Kent State, Wake Forest and Akron programs.
