
JMU Evens Weekend Series By Defeating Falcons Saturday

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team was defeated by James Madison University, 15-4, Saturday (March 6). BGSU is playing the weekend series at JMU's Veterans Memorial Park. The contest served as the middle game of the three-game series. The rubber match is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m.
Bowling Green trailed just 6-4 after five innings, but the Dukes broke the game open with a five-run sixth. JMU added one in the seventh and three in the eighth to conclude the game's scoring. The Falcons drop to 1-4 on the young season with the loss.
Tyler Ross continued his hot season at the plate, going for 2-for-4 with an RBI to bump his batting average up to .381 on the campaign. Also recording hits for the Falcons were Adam Furnas, Jared Johnson, Robbie Peterson, Ryan Johnston, Dylan Dohanos, Nathan Rose and Jack Krause.
Tyler Hays made his season debut on the mound. Hays struck out two over 2.1 innings and made way to Rigo Ramos, who pitched effectively over 2.2 frames. Ramos allowed just two hits and one run while striking out one. Fellow southpaw David Stopp also pitched well, fanning two and surrendering a single run across 2.0 innings.
