BGSU Heads to Foggy Bottom on Friday for George Washington’s Five-Team Meet

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green gymnastics team returns to action on Friday evening as the Falcons head to the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, D.C., for a five-team meet at George Washington. In addition to the host, GWU, BGSU will be joined in our nation's capital by Western Michigan, Fisk and Ursinus. The meet will start at 7 p.m. at the Charles E. Smith Center.

IN THE RANKINGS
• George Washington is No. 37 according to Road to Nationals, while BGSU is No. 57. WMU is ranked No. 33, while Fisk is No. 66 and Ursinus is No. 74.
• Bowling Green is ranked No. 50 on bars, No. 53 on vault, No. 57 on floor and No. 59 on beam.
• GWU is No. 19 on vault, No. 38 on beam, No. 38 on floor and No. 39 on bars.

• BGSU is 1-8 all-time against GWU. Bowling Green's lone win came in 2002. This is the first meeting since a 2017 meet in Fort Worth, Texas.
• BGSU is 29-22-1 all-time against Western Michigan, including a narrow loss at Anderson Arena on Jan. 20. BGSU's last win over WMU came in 2019 at Anderson Arena.
• BGSU is 3-0 all-tie against Ursinus with the last meeting coming in a 2020 meet at Kent State.
• Friday is BGSU's first all-time meeting with Fisk.

GEORGE WASHINGTON
• GWU last time out placed second out of four teams at a Temple meet. They have yet to score below 195.000 as a team in 2023.

WESTERN MICHIGAN
• WMU is coming off two-straight MAC wins at home over the past two weeks. WMU topped Central Michigan last time out and previously beat Eastern Michigan.

FISK
• Fisk is looking for its first win of the season. They recently fell at William & Mary. They have faced Kent State and Ball State already this year from the MAC.

URSINUS
• Ursinus recently placed third at Ithaca's quad-meet with Towson and West Chester.
• BGSU head coach Kerrie Turner is a 1999 graduate of Ursinus.

LAST WEEK
• Bowling Green Falcons fell at West Virginia, 196.575-194.800.
• Taylor Jensen won the vault with a PR 9.900.
• With Jensen's vault win (9.900), placing second in all-around (39.175) and tied for third on beam (9.775), the senior now has 50 career Top-3 finishes for the Falcons.
• Isabella Rivelli placed second on bars with a 9.825, while Began Bingham scored the same on beam to also place second with a PR.
