McKinley wins CCHA Defenseman of the Week for First Time in BGSU Career

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Central Collegiate Hockey Association has recognized four student-athletes as its Players of the Week for the previous week of competition. Bowling Green's Breck McKinley was named CCHA Defenseman of the Week, his first honor of his career. The sophomore recorded his first career goal in Friday night's game against the St. Thomas Tommies. On the weekend, McKinley recorded two points for his first multi-point series of his career.

This is McKinley's first conference award honor of his career as well as the third for Bowling Green in the 2024-25 season after junior Brett Pfoh earned forward of the week in the first week of the season and two weeks ago junior Dalton Norris won defenseman of the week. This marks BGSU's second consecutive defensive player of the week award for week's that they were eligible to win the award.

CCHA Defenseman of Week: Breck McKinley, Sophomore, Bowling Green
McKinley scored his first collegiate goal in the first game against the St. Thomas Tommies on last Friday. The sophomore's goal on Friday night was scored on the power-play in the third period to tie the game. McKinley's goal helped the Falcons force overtime and help the Falcons win in an eventual shootout. The St. Albert, Alb., native followed up Friday night's success into Saturday, where he recorded an assist for his first multi-point series of his career.
