BGSU Ice Hockey Adds Six to 2024-2025 Roster

Falcons Welcome Three Freshman and Three Transfers
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio- The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team and Head Coach Dennis Williams announced the addition of six players to the team's 2025 roster. The Falcons will welcome three freshman and three transfers. The incoming student athletes hail from the countries of Finland, Norway, Russia, Slovakia and the United States.

Ville Immonen-Â Seinajoki, Finland/Minot Minotaurous (Union College) | Â Ville Immonen joins the Falcons after four years at Union College. Immonen was a four-time ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team selection. In the 2023-24 season, he recorded a career-best 24 points (8G, 16A) and 35 points for his Union College career. The Finnish forward won 55.1 percent of face-offs taken ranking ninth in ECAC Hockey. and was tied for fifth in team scoring. During his time at Union College, he recorded nine multi-point games and in 2023-24 registered five power-play goals and three game-winning goals. | |
Matvei Kabanov- Togliatti, Russia /Amurskie Tigry Khabarovsky (Northern Michigan University) | Matevi Kabanov joins the falcons after a spending the 2023-24 season at Northern Michigan University. The Togliatti, Russia native skated in 27 games, which was fourth amount freshman skater and finished second among freshmen with nine points (4G, 5A). Before Northern Michigan, Kabanov played in the MHL for the Amurskie Tigry Khabarovsky,  recording 57 points (20G, 37A) in 53 games. | |
Johannes Løkkeberg- Fredrikstad, Norway/West Kelowna Warriors (BCHL) | Johannes Løkkeberg will come to Bowling Green from Norway via the West Kelowna Warriors of the BCHL. He was named as the heart and soul award recipient for the West Kelowna Warriors. In the 2023-24 season with the Warriors, Løkkeberg recorded 47 points (13G, 34A). He was a captain of the U20 World Juniors Championship team for Norway and recorded 3 points (2G, 1A) through seven games. | |
Maxwell Martin- Tawas City, Mich.,/Wisconsin Windigo (NAHL) | A 6-foot right-handed forward Maxwell Martin will join the falcons from the Wisconsin Windigo of the NAHL. Martin was named the 2023-2024 NAHL most valuable player (MVP), forward of the year and a NAHL all first team selection. The Michigan native lead the NAHL in points (97) and goals (44) and finished third in the NAHL in assists (53). | |
Jackson Niedermayer-Â Newport Beach, Calif.,/Penticton Vees (Arizona State University) | Coming to Bowling Green from Newport Beach, Calif., Jackson Niedermayer will join the falcons after earning three letters at Arizona State University. In his three seasons with the Sun Devils, Niedermayer recorded 19 points (13G,6A) and finished the season +13 for second best on the team. Before his time in Ariz., Niedermayer played with the Penticton Vees in the BCHL recording 57 points (27G, 30A) in his two seasons with the program. Additionally, he is the son of NHL hall of famer Scott Niedermayer and the nephew of Stanley Cup champion Rob Niedermayer. | |
Adam Zlnka-Detva, Slovakia./Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL) | A 6-foot right-handed forward, Adam Zlnka will join the falcons from Detva, Slovakia after playing for the Sioux Falls Stampede, Waterloo Black Hawks and Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL. Zlnka in his time in the USHL recorded 46 points (19G, 27A). In the 2023-24 season with the Waterloo Black Hawks and Des Moines Buccaneers, he recorded 18 points (10G, 8A). He was a member of the U20 World Juniors Championship team for Slovakia and recorded 2 points (2A) through seven games. |
