Stjernberg Earns First CCHA Weekly Award of Career

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Central Collegiate Hockey Association has recognized four student-athletes as its Players of the Week for the previous week of competition. Bowling Green's Gustav Stjernberg was named CCHA Defenseman of the Week, his first CCHA honor of the season and his career. Stjernberg finished the weekend with four points: 1G, 3A, 4P over a two-game series against Bemidji State.
This is Stjernberg's first conference award of the season and career. Bowling Green now has earned six CCHA weekly awards and four CCHA Defenseman of the week awards for the 2024-25 season. Junior Brett Pfoh earned CCHA Forward of the Week in the first week of the season and both junior Dalton Norris, earning twice, and sophomore Breck McKinley earning CCHA Defenseman of the Week, while senior Christian Stoever earned CCHA Goaltender of the Week last Monday.
CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Gustav Stjernberg, Sophomore, Bowling Green
Stjernberg earned his first multi-point game of the season on Friday night with one goal and two assists. The sophomore defender, assisted on the game-winning overtime goal by senior Ryan O'Hara. The Enebyberg, Sweden recorded nine shots in the series, including six on Saturday night for a new career-high in shots.
