BGSU Hosts First Home Meet of the Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green women's swimming and diving team will host its first home meet of the season at Cooper Pool on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. Miami (Ohio) will square off against BGSU in an in-conference matchup.
The Falcons are coming off a dominant performance in Indianapolis. On Oct. 4, they traveled to the IU Natatorium and defeated Bellarmine (248-45), Butler (239-54), IU Indianapolis (211.5-87.5), Saint Louis (233-66) and Xavier (202-91), finishing a perfect 4-0. The day was highlighted by MAC Swimmer of the Week Samia Becdach and MAC Diver of the Week Natalia Mayorga. Becdach anchored a 400-medley relay team that finished first, won the 50 back and placed second in the 100 free. Mayorga finished second in both the one-meter and three-meter dive.
Miami (Ohio) comes to Bowling Green after traveling to Northwestern last weekend. They went 1-1 after defeating SIU (174-120) but dropping to Northwestern (76-224) last weekend. The Red Hawks, along with Ohio, were picked to place second in the conference preseason polls with 53 points, while the Falcons were picked eighth with 19 points.
After Saturday's meet, Bowling Green will host Eastern Michigan on Nov. 7.
